Just wondering how many and how often white pekins lay eggs and if you have to have a drake for them to lay?

Ducks do not need a drake to lay eggs. As far as number of eggs in a given year, Metzer says for Pekins you can expect anywhere from 140-220 a year (source: http://www.metzerfarms.com/DuckBreedComparison.cfm)

Also, I'm not 100% on this, but I believe calling them "white Pekin" is redundant since all Pekins are white in color.

EDIT: Oops, looks like Rosie beat me to the punch!

My pekins laid an egg almost every day. 5-6 a week. I don't know why, I expected less! They are free ranging. No you don't need a drake, much like you don't need a rooster :)

That is a great website with tons of info, that page specifically says that the Pekin lays 140-220 eggs per year. Which says to me anywhere from 2 to 4 eggs per week.

You do not have to have a drake for your ducks to lay, but you would need one if you wanted to have fertile eggs.
awesome thank you. I ended up geting three pekins and three rouens last night at a dollar a piece. I also got more chicks at a buck 25 a piece.

Cool! I really have liked my pekins. I get usually 4 a day from my 5 pekins. Once or twice a week I get 2 or 3 eggs. One was injured so she is not currently laying.
