Who Doesn't pay any Income Tax

hmm.. my kids have had a SS number since they were born... and DD is 18 and DS is 10.

Ok, now days you do have to have a SS# for almost anything. However, you do not have to get it as soon as the child is born. Like someone else said you can do it at the hospital, most will provide the forms for you. They even offered this service when my DD was born 28 years ago, but I didn't do it right away because at dicharge she didn't have a name yet! I have 3 GKids and they too had a choice at the hospital, but it was not a manditory thing, and the younger is 4.

And just who are the rich? They are far and few between in this country any more. The truly wealthy all live in the middle east or the far east. They are beyond our taxing authority.

Wealth and talent gravitate to where they are protected and rewarded. Punishing people for working hard and being successful is wrong. Eventually, nobody is left is such a country except the social parasites that consume but do not produce.

The system eventually breaks down.

I'm childless by choice, but, in my view, making a good public education available to all is a worthwhile effort. I'd rather contribute to that than a large number of other government programs - like bank bail outs.

Chicken Lil, do you think it is so easy being a banker or CEO? Then why aren't you one?

Kind of reminds me of the story about the guy that said he made his money the hard way. Then his friend said "Ha, you won the lottery!" And the guy said "If you think it is so easy, let's see you do it."

My Aunt runs the San Fran division of Morgan Stanley. Yes she works hard, has a lot of knowledge, and has made millions. Guess what, it still is NOT a job deserving of millions. How about being a neuro surgeon? They deserve as much as a CEO or banker. At least they have more ethics.

no taxes on grocerys in OH and no taxes on clothes in PA. Good thing i live on the state line.
