Who else got some 2013 chicks?!

Our new arrivals ship out on Monday, the day after my birthday. So excited!! Hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday.

Mine were supposed to get in on the 29th of this month now they said it won't be until the 6th of May! I'm so bummed I want them now! *pouts*

Well we had our first loss yesterday. My daughter left the gate open and the Lab helped herself to 1 of our Part Rocks. The wife asked since we lost 1 could we get 2 to replace it cause it was one of the really tame ones.

We purchased our chicks yesterday! We are first timers in city limits so we are starting small with 4 chicks. They are soooo cute and fuzzy and cuddly.

Yes my handy husband surprise me by starting to build one Saturday with no plans. It already looks amazing just a few more touches then its ready!! All of my chicks are brown eggers though and I really want one that lays blue eggs. Like an amerucana, so im on the search for one of those or a silkie.

We have Easter Eggers, Silver Laced Wyandottes, and Rhode Island Reds. My favorite so far are the Easter Eggers, and they lay blue and green eggs. Keep an eye out for those, they have great personalities.

Ours arrive sometime this morning. It's been storming most of the night so hopefully they come in early so we can run into town and pick them up. They're 3 days old and scared I'm sure. Poor wittle fuzz butts. Brooder is all ready to go and pre warmed for their arrival. Happy belated birthday to me, but they were born on my birthday. YAY... I'll never forget their ages. I will post pics later today.
