Who else is on lock down?

Well, I two little Seramas clunking around in there now. Sure hope for more! I thought that at least five of the six eggs that were left were good.

At least there are two!

I am soo soo happy to announce that I've had 25 out of the 32 hatch and another 2 have pipped! I guess the temp spikes didn't do any harm.

Good luck everyone with your hatches!!

I had one of the Silkies pip this morning, it was a bloody pip! I picked at the shell a little and I broke a small piece off.

Well, when I did that, blood started pouring out of the egg!

I don't have much hope for the little guy, since I have to spend 11 hours away from the house today!

Darn eggs are so thick shelled candling them is impossable so I don't even have a clue if there will be any pips in the next couple of days

Patty jean "may the hatching gods bless you and your future chickies" The first time is always exciting, well it's exciting whether it's your first or 500th time. What are you hatching by the way!

I only had one little baby hatch. Stitch was all alone, no family and rolled because he wasn't walking at all. Just like the movie. He/she cried alot of the day when I wasn't holding it. This evening I found someone who had some chicks that were a few days old to be his buddies in the brooder. Maybe encourage him to get up and move around. With vitamins, electrolyes and love his legs are strengthening. Woohoo

Hoping he is able to survive.

I say he because I have a rooster bator

Well, I rather think that my two little Seramas are the only ones that are going to hatch.

And I have some Silkie/showgirl eggs coming up that I candled preperatory to lockdown, and quite honestly, I think they have all quit also.

I wonder what I am doing wrong.

All of these eggs were fertile and had something living in them at one time.

It is very discouraging.

I am not sure that they are all quitters, but I am not seeing anything move in them any more.
