Who else is waiting the impossible wait?

My Easter Eggers(x4) and Barred Rock's(x2) are all 19 weeks old today, and no eggs yet. I've read that their wattles will turn dark red when they are getting ready to lay, but does that mean a few days or weeks before they actually start laying? The Barred Rock's have combs and wattles starting and they are red, but not super dark red. The Easter Eggers don't even have any combs or wattles yet. I hope they lay soon, as we are low on eggs, and I hear when you buy eggs, then the chickens immediately start laying. Maybe it would be worth the $2 or $3 to give them some kind of voodoo encouragement with a fridge full of eggs already.

I'm still waiting. Our oldest two pullets (a BLRW and BO) are 20 weeks old today. The BLRW is very red in the face, but nobody has a bright red comb. No one is squatting or singing the egg song yet either. I'm thinking it will be September for us.

20 weeks today for mine too. My BR has a bright red comb and is squatting but nothing yet... I would characterized my BO's comb as hot pink, and the EEs....well, who knows with them. I try to remain patient by telling myself, it might be September, but I still check about twice a day

Just hang in there. They will start soon and it will be like finding a present on Christmas morning! How silly is that ???? I was so lucky that my grandsons were here and they got to see their grandma acting like a big goof! They got to watch me cook it, it was a double yolker!, and they got to eat it! It doesn't get much better than that!
