Who else is waiting the impossible wait?

I have a total of 9 chickens... I think 3 roosters..although only one crows...I was wondering if they could be stressing out my pullets... and that is why all of them are not laying...only one is so far. The one rooster is pretty domineering... he has went after me 4 times because I pet one of the chickens...

Gallinamama, how old are your pullets? I don't have roosters, but I've read where some people with pick up a dominating rooster and carry him around under their arm just to show him who is boss. You want to make sure he knows you are the head chicken!

Congrats to all who have had their first eggs in the last few days! So jealous! LOL Tho I know it's coming, even if I still have a few weeks to wait. I see more red in the faces and combs every day, so I know they are getting there.

I got my first egg!!!!

I couldn't believe it! It had been laid on the poop board (at night?

), so it had a tiny crack on the bottom. It was white, so I know it was one of the leghorns. Her comb is very red. She is 17 weeks and 3 days. I've heard it is not great to have an early layer. Why is this? Will she be more prone to internal laying or something, or is she within the range of normal?
I hope she will be okay. The egg was delicious! Only 1.15 oz., and we split it!

15 more chickens to go.

First egg on the left (normal 2 oz. egg next to it - store bought)

I'm rooting for the rest of you!

I am still waiting too. It feels like it's been forever. Next time I will remember to ask how old the chicks are when we buy them, but I know for a fact that they have been in our house for 12 weeks and they were maybe 4 weeks when we got them.

Chicken Princess, I am rooting for you big time. Your turn is soon now.
