Well, a few of them (about 8) have really red faces.. None of them do the egg squat. The only song I get from the run is of all things, my Lakenvelder ROOSTER sings the bawk-bawk-bagock song! I'm beginning to wonder if the heat could be the culprit. It's starting to cool off. It's in the lower 90's now but it's still hot! But, I don't know if that's it, because my 2 turkeys are laying everyday..

Congrats buckbucka!! No eggs here Today. Maybe tomorrow. I get to be home all day so I can check frequently. I'll catch one in the act yet!! hee hee

We have five chickens who were all supposedly born in March (not sure exactly when), so that makes them anywhere from 21-25 weeks today, and STILL NO EGGS! I'm beginning to think they will never lay.... Like some of you, I'm very disheartened and don't even want to check for eggs anymore. Is is possible that all five will never lay?

It's possible that you all treat them so good they think they are human. You may want to remind them that they are chickens, and chickens lay eggs. LOL

We are keeping our girls locked up in the run and henhouse until after lunchtime today because the one who is singing and squatting (but still no eggs from her) kept flying over the fence of our chicken yard! We suspected she was sneaking off to lay her eggs somewhere else in our jungle-like yard where we can never find them:/ Maybe if she's locked up she'll actually lay an egg where she's supposed to. That is, if she is laying eggs yet. They are not happy campers right now!

i'm on the early side of waiting....... my girls are just 17 weeks. a couple are squating.....

yes, the golf balls and white wooden eggs are in the nesting boxes......... yes, i look every
day.......

i provide kind and supportive encouragement when cleaning and feeding..........

my first chickens........... the wait has begun!

C&C Chickens - I also have March chicks who have not begun to lay!! Their faces are red, their waddles are big, they sing the egg song, and they do the squat! All these behaviors have been going on for a few weeks, and so now I am a bit disheartened about looking for eggs. Is it possible I got lemons? They free range and are well taken care of - I just thought that 24 weeks was the maximum - but no such luck!!

OK...So my girls in my guestimation were well over due....cut them some slack due to the extreme heat
here in Arizona....I Have 2 BR,1 BO,1sa Br,3 EE,1 GLW.... when lo and behold,I found one of the BR
in my other pen (Younger flock) she was coming out of the H House!!! Sure enough there were at least
4 eggs in there, andthe same day found one in the grass. Safe to say The BR are the ones. But nothimg
from the other girls. The BO face is still pale.. gonna keep up the watch!
