Keep the faith!!! I have been feeling the same as everyone else especially since 3 of my friends bought chickens the same place and day as me and all of them have been laying for at least 3 weeks. Our hens are almost 23 weeks and we just got our first egg today. We woke this morning to a very loud egg song. They will lay!!

do their combs turn red before they start laying? my girls are 16 weeks and their still fairly small birds slightly bigger then a pidgeon and if someone was just passing the house that didn't know what pullets looked like they wouldn't recognise them as chickens . do I need to wait til they actually look more like chickens?

You know it's bad when you go to buy more feed and they ask "Are they egg laying chickens?" your reply is "In theory!"

My husband thinks I got the wrong kind of chickens. Crazy girls were hatched in February! Seriously! Over 20 weeks! This is killing me!
