Who else is waiting the impossible wait?

Finally!!! There were two eggs. And in the nesting boxes!!! I brought my chickens home the last week of March and have been DYING waiting and watching every day. One of the eggs was soft - but here is a pic of the other. I'm so proud you would think I layed it myself! Hooray!!!

Well I thought my twelve hens (4 barred rocks and 8 Araucanas) were the only hens in the world that didn't lay eggs despite a lovely coop and yard and expensive organic food. But they finally started last week and the count has been increasing -- eight eggs today! So take heart, your day will come.
 
Too funny... I went back to look... I really didn't think I would find any.. and for some reason my husband didn't have any golf balls??? I think the grandkids must of took them

Anywho... I had found an egg shaped little rock the was smooth... I took it into the coop... I showed it to the chickens... and placed it into the nests... Yeah they gave me that look too...

The rooster flapped his wings and went to the nest to inspect, I guess.. then two chickens followed... he let out such an awful sound... and they all went running... don't know what happened but then another two chickens came to inspect... and gave me some strange looks... they probably were looking for food and all I brought them was a ROCK!
