I just wanted to clear this up, we’re not hating on orps. It’s more a game, some are on cochin side some are on orp side. They insult Cochins we insult orps.

Mine used to not be able to sleep without me arranging them and holding them in my lap, they were a few weeks old.

My orps are very sweet, my three cockerels all get pushed around a bit by my more aggressive silkie and polish boys, but they're too big to be properly bullied so it works out. One just started crowing at ~16 weeks, a low mournful howl. The girls are sweet too, have learned they can beg treats from me too easily.

I have two 9 month old Buff Orpingtons & they are both sweethearts! Very bright & friendly & get along wonderfully in the flock!

I love my Lacey! She is the mellowest of my 12 chickens and does not get involved in chicken politics. She was a very cute chubby chick, had a very long ugly stage and is now just gorgeous at 22 weeks. I love her big, pink dinosaur feet. It would be a hard call to make, but if I only could keep one chicken for some reason, it would be her.❤

Maybe you need to buy some from a different breeder/hatchery... wherever you're getting yours from must be raising some defective birds
