Ha ha ha ha....I just paid $41.99 a bale and $17.49 per bag of alfalfa/oat cubes.
OMG!! That’s ridiculous!! For just like a regular square bale or one of the big round ones or?

Only square. We tried buying the big round bales of grass but the last 5-6 went bad fast. they were not properly dried. Those were $60. and a waste.OMG!! That’s ridiculous!! For just like a regular square bale or one of the big round ones or?
It has been that price for awhile- like years. The good news is we only go through about 1 bale and 5+ bags a month (roughly $140 in feed per month). In the not so far past we cut our own grass and still do when we can. Saved $$ but takes time and I end up with a heck of a rash on my neck and arms after a few months. Last winter we had almost no rain, this summer we had a few storms but things dry up quickly. We are at least 5 degrees warmer than normal. We weigh the feed and steak our horses out to graze when we can.

I really dislike the grass rashitchy and unsightly.
Well, sounds like you are destined to have animals that eat hay lol. It really just sounds like a matter of time before one finds you and you do whatever it takes to care for it. You will keep us posted right?!
I took this photo earlier but could not download because i just got a new phone and was trying to figure it out... while unloading groceries after a long day... while my stupid dog just killed a very special chick of mine that should have been safe... Bad day. Deep breath.
K. don't know if you can tell the size. Not one of the heavy duty compressed ones, just a normal bale. This feed run was $117.23 and just topping off our stash. Hurricane season I like to be a little more stocked up on pet food too. I do not like that they wrap them in shrink wrap. Sorry people.View attachment 1892768 and it's Timothy
