Who has purchased eggs from ebay ? and what was your hatch rate ?

I followed your story on the May Hatch-a-Long OES Dog. Glad to see Eggbert(a) is doing so well. S/he had a hard entry into the world but it was successful because of you!

Eggbert is not doing very well today. S/he is unsteady and has not eaten. S/he is fluffed out under the bulb. Not sure what to do really have given vitamin drops and yogurt and raised the temp. The little friend is trying to get him up to play but he is falling asleep a lot. Any ideas. He was so strong just 24 hrs ago???

Depends on the breed and average temp. of the incubator. No it is not normal, BUT it is not unusual...just keep an eye on the little one...

8 out of 12 eggs have gone into lockdown today. Fingers crossed I get chicks this time.

It can be normal for small breeds!
All my bantam/silkie eggs had pipped between day 18-19 and most hatched on day 20. Everyone was out by 21!

Sonja73, I would love to give your eggs a shot, what kinds of birds to do you breed and sell from?

Oesdog, the pedialyte is a good idea. Also try equal parts warm water and honey. That's been very helpful with my chicks when any start acting lethargic.

Congratulations Georg. Mybe the temps have been a bit high, or is it a bantam? Either could be the reason. Fantastic news.
