Thanks, I do too! I have two more hens on about 18-20 NN bantam eggs due NEXT week! Then a duck on 12 eggs due two weeks later,lol.

I've been watching things at HD carefully and buying stuff on clearance and I am really tempted lately to rig up one of the homemade incubators that Miss Prissy and redneck and others developed as a hatcher.

I'm sittin in the bathroom while my kids are bathin & I just heard 'peep-peep-peep' and the biggest SMILE came across my face! It's been SOOO long since I've heard that!

The bators are in my youngest daughter's room.

Finally had a free minute to check the incubator and the final total on my quail are 9 chicks. Though the last one looks very puny it might wind up being 8 healthy babies. Either way I am very happy with the results. They came out to be about a $1 a piece so whoever says $1 doesn't buy you much is wrong lol! In all though you can't put a price on all the fun watching them hatch! 9 out of 14 is a winner in my books and I know my incubator is working fine so it's time to hatch away!

I have a blue silkie with a domed head but I am not sure how many toes it has, then I have two pips and three eggs all hatch date tomorrow.

thats my first silkie so I dont know what they are supposed to look like but he is cute. I had to hurry and build a hatcher last night because I have 4 different hatch dates and just ran out of room. I thought I had lost them because it was 105 in there this morning. looking good. though

Mille Fleur and Barred Rocks(bantams), and 2 unmarked mysterious eggs that I must have put in there hatch in about 1 week

Salmon Favorelles(bantams) and Sizzles hatch in about 2 weeks

And RIRs(bantams) hatch in about three weeks

I think I know the secret to hatching,,,,,keep yourself so busy you cant fuss over the eggs and they hatch better!

My Silkie has 5 toes and it turned silver after it dried :yipee

Are the silkie eggs from me? If so it is most likely blue. And the domed head is a good thing! At least to me it is. Can't wait to see pics of your new baby.

I built one of those bators miss prissy has and have had 2 good hatches with it, I did put a dimmer switch on it for more control and a home made turner

Well I left for work at noon today and my son got sick so I came home at 10pm to one chick and 6 more pipping I have 29 total. 20 RIR's and 9 RIW's. I lost 11 eggs when my temp went up. Convenient my son got sick, not really. But I will have pics tomorrow.

yes these are your silkie eggs count is 4 splash or blue and 1 drk blue and 1 egg

They are really cute,,,the one with the domed head has splayed legs so I put a band aid on it looks better now,,,,,a couple are really wide awake and active,,,,the other three are sleepy,,,,,I like the black skin,,,,,I will try to get pics up in a week but not before(camera troubles

)
