Who is with me?

I put my peababies and future guinea babies in the hatcher this afternoon. We are officially on lock-down.

By Wednesday we should have some kind of babies.....

I'm kinda worried about my turkey eggs. I set them 5/19, but I just didn't think this thing out too well. I have no other babies hatching with the turkeys. They won't have any chickie friends.

Sounds good!

Well, little peachick pulled through, I got up this morning and he was on 2 feet and not falling over.

Now that he is up walking, eating and drinking, I will get a picture of him and post it. He is just adorable.

So here he is all dry and pretty.

Chickie mama how are your babies coming along?

WWD I LMAO about your Jurassic Park story. I can just picture that, because of my own chickens. Mine will not get up on my lap, but they will follow me all over the yard if I call them.

Hey everyone hope that the hatching is going well for all,day 19 for me and my question is when do the little guys start to pip and move inside the eggs.

I mix ages in the brooder all the time. Though I might not add these in to the batch still in the house. They're less tame and I REALLY want both the turkey and the marans to be totally tame.

My turkeys are such puppies they can teach almost any bird to trust me with the way they behave and I like it that way.

Well, I have 3 ducklings hatching and I hate to say it, but Walkswithdog, I think your friend has a point. Out of the 3 eggs, again, to are backward in the eggs. I am just not getting it.
Out of the previous 3 duck eggs all 3 are doing well. The 1 that was have difficulties is also fine, just a little smaller than the other 2, so I am sure with a little help from me, these 2 backward babies will make it also. To bad I do not do as well with my backward chicks, these ducks must just be tough little guys.

Cassey, did you see any movement when candling? As for movement of the egg, you do not always see the egg moving when they are getting ready to hatch, unless you want to just sit there and watch all day. You may just walk in and look and have a bouncy fluffy butt in the incubator. Think of it as waiting for your dog to give birth, while you are sitting there waiting nothing happens. But go get a cup of coffee and come back, there is a puppy. (from experience

Just have patience, your babies will be there when they are ready.

Good luck.

Chickie mama, where are you? Are you hiding?

Are the eggs pipped? Are they making noise? Are they doing anything? Inquiring minds need to know.
