I love my Revere ware pan set.
I got mine in 1993 when I got married and they still work like they did the first day i got them. they clean up great and look shiny new after a good scratcher pad has seen it's bottom side. they work great on gas or electric stoves. I would not have any other kind.

my best skillet is a quisenart and I didn't pay a penny for it.My friend sent it home with me.she had made me a dish ,I went to give it back to her and she said she hated it cause it was too heavy.
obviously not a cook
I need a well seasoned cast iron pan for eggs.

Ok so for qute a few people it was the all-clad.. when I went to their website.. I
th.gif
due to the fact that a 7 piece set was 980.00..

so I went to work....

I did what I could on the internet

really tough when you need to "feel" the difference

we went to several stores... linnens and things was the first.. they were having a going out of business sale.
pop.gif
totally disapointed... they raised their prices to give the 40-60% OFF...

so then we went to bed bath and beyond...

the calphalon was really nice and so was the Cuisinart they were right up there with the all clad in feel.. although the cuisinart seemed a better bottom..

so then we went to Dillards... (much like the Bon marche, or macys) .. she had a bit of info.. there was a set of all clad on clearance 7 pc for $250.00 but we were not ready yet.. still needing lots more information. She did tell us that Emerilware was made by all clad (even at the same plant)
old.gif
well that is very good to hear.. so then I started comparing closer to the all clad and the emerilware.. really not much difference in weight.. but there is three layers on the emerilware... aluminum, copper, and stainless.. the all clad didnt have these three.. (so that i could tell..

)

So it came down to the cuisinart.. (I liked this one too) or the emerilware..

that was for the stainless.

now for the
hold-out on toxic cookware was my little non-stick skillet for my morning eggs.

toxic stuff...
sickbyc.gif
there is a set from cuisinart... called greenware..
http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=16034185

aparently it is a ceramic-based rather than the traditional non stick that we are used to.. it is very smooth and slick feeling.. not porus like the others.. we are looking into this set..

but with the emerilware fumes and all... you can pick up the non stick type that match the stainless.. so that your stainless and nonstick look the same from the outside. (just a little quark of mine

)

so this is what I have found on my hunt for cookware..

Oh yea and BB and B got me on their mailing list and they send out a 20% off one item coupon.. they also told me that while I am waiting to get my coupon. I can purchase something and then bring the reciept and the coupon and they will refund me. "they do it all the time"
thumbsup.gif
that puts my 10 piece set of emeril ware from 199.99 to 159.99 or the cuisinart set that I liked too from 149.99 to 119.00

dont forget to check HSN or QVC as both sell cookware from Emeril I believe and usually you can find it cheaper along with Promo codes if you look around online!

They may even sell the Cuisinart as well...

I got a set of All-Clad 20 years ago for $200. It was a huge investment for me. I will hand them down to my grandchildren. They are wonderful. If you can get a 7 piece set now for $250 you will never regret it.

We have a real mix. Whenever I find Revereware in good shape at thrift stores, yard sales, and swap meets, I pick it up. Some have needed a really good cleaning, but I have quite a set now, complete with lids, enough for the house and a small set in our 5th-wheel. And the old stuff is heavier with better handles than the new. I have no idea how much I've spent total on them, but I think the most expensive was $3.

We bought a 12" Lodge skillet that is just great for browning things to go in the slow cooker, and I inherited two cast iron dutch ovens; a 10" Griswold Tite Top Baster(from 1920) with drip rings in the lid, and an 8" Wagner Ware. They are both wonderful and get used regularly. Yard sales and thrift stores have yielded a great set of smaller Griswold and Wagner Ware skillets, from 10" down to 5".

No one mentioned pressure cookers! Mine is a stainless Presto from a few years back, love it! And I just recently dug a 16 qt. pressure cooker/canner out of my shed where I had stored it years ago after finding it at a yard sale. It's a Mirro, and seems to be in great shape. I'll have to try it out soon to see if the gasket is as good as it seems. It will really be useful when I need to can the trout I catch when I am lucky enough, when I get my garden up and going again, and when I have a few extra cockerels that need to be turned into stock or canned chicken. It holds 8 quart or pint jars, regular or wide mouth.

Very little of what we have has been bought new, but we love what we have!

My mom bought me some Emerilware about 5 years years ago. It worked very well, but now the copper has separated from the other two layers on most of the pots.

I bought a very expensive 14 piece Westbend set of waterless cookwear quite a few years ago. It is stainless steel and I love it! It has the vacuum seal valves on the lids so it seals the pan as it cooks which makes for faster cooking at lower heat. Really enjoy cooking in it.

I also have some cast iron pieces I've picked up along the way which I enjoy immensely, too. It's kinda nutty but I often plan my meals around which pan I want to use
