Who likes to hunt?

I like to hunt deer, season here has been open since last Saturday and the highs have been in the seventies almost everyday so far, 73 right now so that has really put a dampener on the season this year. Don't like to hunt in shorts and t-shirt, lol

Hey, just thought I would add. I have hunted deer for the last 4 years. I enjoy it alot. this year i went on my 1st pheasent hunting trip to SD and ND. I went with my dad and 2 brothers. My dog, Keysha, who is 1 1/2 did really really well. We came home with a ton of birds. I had so much fun and I am now addictided to bird hunting.

Oh by the way Keysha was one of the pups out of my dads litter and I trained her by myself. So i was really pleased with how well she did!!( I'm still in highschool!!

Didn't know that existed but I'm very glad that is available for you. When you come to Texas stop by, I'll buy you a lunch or something. Live 15 minutes north of I-10 just east of Beaumont. Thank you for Serving. Hell, you can hunt here! Have a few whitetail around.

I love to hunt! I have been hunting since I was 16. I used to go out with my dad in Michigan and hunt the big Bucks and does. Since I moved here to NC, I've noticed the deer are a lot smaller. But the thrill of hunting has not gotten any smaller! I too hunt for food, not trophies. I do not have horns, heads or full mounts anywhere in my home....but the freezer is full!!!
Was planning on taking my dad Bear hunting this season, but my Dad passed this past May, so now I hunt solo till my son gets older. My older sons dont have the interest in hunting that my father and I shared. I have not gone hunting this year, but will go next year. I'm buying a lifetime license for me and my youngest son. So maybe I can instill the pride and memories my father gave me, into my son. Thus passing on a long family tradition.

Yep, we love to deer hunt here at my place. Venzun (like my grandma called it) is way superior than any pen raised red meat.
This is a pic of one my son harvested yesterday. I think my grandson will be a hunter too!

I am so glad other people love to hunt.

The Elk steaks were great, and yesterday for dinner I cut one up and made it into finger steaks, with gravy, corn, & mashed taters. It was good. I had to stretch what I had thawed out. Tonight we have to finish cutting her up.

Congrats bigzo on your son's deer it's a nice one.

ChickensinMT, what part of South Dakota did you hunt phesants in? We are in the northern part, and have lots of phesants here!

To remove the crop is not too hard to do, but to pluck an elk is totally different. LOL @ lurky

I am happy to see other women that hunt. I too love to deer and turkey hunt. My husband taught to me to hunt with a compound bow. In fact I have never shot a deer with a shotgun yet. Maybe this year since I haven't gotten one yet. No opportunities. My seventeen yr. old daughter also hunts. She shot her first turkey at age 10 and I took her on her first deer hunt where she got a 6pt. in a snowstorm. That was a mother/daughter event I will never forget. Oh, dad had to work that's why I got the honor.
This year we took up pheasant hunting. Since my daughter was a trap shooter and I wanted to see how my weimaramer dog would do, it was something we could do together as a family. I had a ball just watching the dog and my daughter work together. It only took 8 minutes and the hunt was over. She got her two birds that are allowed.
I must say I like turkey hunting the most. I don't know what it is about sitting in the woods in the spring listening to all the birds wake up and then hear a gobbler call out that just makes you feel real good inside. I always said that when my kids were little and I got a babysitter so my husband and I could go hunt was my salvation. The woods were my place of peace and quiet where I could relax and enjoy nature and destress. It is great.

I don't hunt often anymore it has been a few years since I purchased a license. In 2000 I was on the cover of our state Waterfowl Regulation Booklet with friend and my chocolate lab. I just don't have the time to devote and have to many other things going on.
