Who likes to hunt?

I used to hunt when I was younger. The only thing I ever shot was a squirrel. My husband hunts deer, he usually gets a buck and if we need the meat a doe. My daughter is going deer hunting for the first time this Monday. My husband is going to let her have the first shot .

I hunt; my husband cowers.

He eats well, though.

I love to hunt. I was out Sat. and Sun. deer hunting, saw nothing. Well, I say nothing. I did see a sea of orange. I had to go on public this year. You couldn't go 100 yards without being ontop of another hunter in both public hunting spots I went to.
I will be back at it Thur., Fr., Sat., and Sun.
Any of you Wisconsinites with land, but that don't hunt want some deer thinned out? LOL, yeah fat chance.

I think I read a year or so ago that here in Mississippi we have the second largest whitetail deer population, NY was first. I have hunted for prob. 17 years or so. Our gun season opened Saturday and this was the first year in 10 years that I wasn't out on opening morning!!! Me and DH and FIL and Dad finished up the super coop. Hallelujah it's done!!!!!! Also, dd has been a little puny and we decided to wait and have all this weekend to hunt and let her have a few days to get over the sniffles. My dh says he is taking dd hunting this weekend. Ha, she is 2 1/2 and I can't wait to see what THEY kill with her loud little motor mouth running. I am sitting WAY on the other side of the woods I can tell you that. LOL!! We have way too many does on my grandparents place where we hunt and nobody else hunts but us, so it's easy to kill 10 does in a season. Also, the temp has been 80 degrees this weekend and today it's 83 right now! Tomorrow 85 or so then a cold front comes in Thanksgiving day and the highs will be 50! That's about all the cold I want. Good luck to all you hunters, and be safe. Wear your orange and use your safety harnesses!!!

Gee, I really am in the minority here

Just today I bought every last NO HUNTING sign walmart had in stock...twelve in all. Tomorrow they go up all over this place.
It's against my religion. It's not against my SO's religion, but out of consideration for me he says no to anyone that asks to hunt on our land. He has not hunted in years, long before he met me.

Hey Mandy,
Glad to see your a hunter too. Let me know if you need any help thinning out some of those does (or bucks too.) I just had my right shoulder operated on 4 days ago so I can't pull the old compound bow back for a few more weeks or so. This is killing me that this is the first year in the last 10-11 years that I haven't gone hunting. I still need to get my drivers licence & hunting licence for Alabama now that I am officially retired from the military. I sure do miss that great Alaskan hunting I have gotten so used to doing.

By the way the little chickies are doing great. They are getting so big and we just got our house today so I need to get going on building those coops so I can get the chickies out of the 110 gallon troft then I can come back down and get some more little ones from you.

Do I need to put in my request now? I will be wanting about 10 each of Buff Orphs & EE's.

I knew there were a lot of hunters out there, thanks guys for posting on here. It is such an experience that one cannot forget. This post shows me how many of us have things in common besides chickens. It's great to get to know you guys/gals. If you guys/gals come to South Dakota let me know and we can go hunting together or something.

Chickenranchwife, congratulations on the elk. Do you have a life time limit on the number of elk you can shoot? In some states one can only bag one in a life time.
