Who likes to hunt?

I've been hunting most of my life. My dad used to take me with him to hunt pheasant, geese, ducks etc. It wasn't until 4 years ago that I got my first deer. It was a beautiful doe that I took at 73 yards. I don't know who was more excited....me or my husband. It was nice to be able to help "fill" the freezer with meat. I really felt like I contributed and was really proud of myself. Besides that, I enjoy being outside. There's nothing quite like being out in God's country listening, seeing and smelling what he has created. Sometimes that's the best therapy. For me it knocks me down a few and reminds me of what really is important. Simple things leave the biggest impressions.

I have never personally seen him. My wife has, as well as everyone I know that drives by my place. Not me, just the does and the little ones. But you know darn well if there are little ones, there are big handsome ones making them.

I just had to share that we had deer steaks for dinner, and oh man, were they good. Beats any beef I've had for a long time. I marinated it overnight in vinegar, olive oil, steak seasoning, and garlic salt. It was delicious.

Is this a good time then to say that I am making tenders tomorrow with potatoes and homemade milke gravy with the juices from the tenders frying. Making myself hungry just thinking about it. See what you started texaschickmama? Poor Galaxie_Man....maybe we can send you some via cyber car or something.
