We didn't lock him up last night but he was still around this morning. He is only staying in one little area under our apple tree. I think he did walk to our house and is now too tired to leave.

Well it's a miracle a predator didn't get him, it's only a matter of time till one does if he isn't provide with a secure house especially at night. Did you talk to the neighbors?

The neighbours weren't home so Hubby will try again tonight.
Hubby will build a pen tonight if he doesn't belong to the neighbours. Last night he got asked to milk cows for someone and so didnt get home till late.

Hubby stopped twice at the neighbour's house but there was no answer. Finally, after we did our shopping we stopped again and we asked if they had ducks.

They said "No, we had two but one died bad then the other one vanished."

They were very happy to hear that he had just run away to our house because he was feeling lonely and we had chickens for company.

They jumped into the car and drove straight over and picked him up.

It is almost too bad the they did. He was a cutie! Now I will have to start trying to convince Hubby to dig a shallow pond and get a couple Quakers next spring.

Hooray for a happy ending, look forward to seeing yours when you get them.

Guess who's back!
Back again!
Howard's back!
Tell your friends!

Lol, it seems we need to tell the neighbours that their duck has come visiting again.
I guess they didn't get him any new friends :(
One of our other neighbours who has animals had stopped on their way home from work to ask if we could feed their animals on Saturday and in the middle of our conversation I caught sight of the duck and was so excited I yelled "The Duck Is Back!"
My poor neighbour has only met us once before and looked kinda worried for a minute until I explained.
I think I am going to tell Hubby to tell the neighbour that Howard ( oh, by the way I named the duck Howard....) can be left to live here until they manage to find him some friends if they don't want to have to keep driving over and then having to catch him and take him home
