Who to keep?

aww really!? thats awesome!
and your telling me!! Im so scared that im going to make a choice an regret it later!!

Been there and made the wrong choice between Roos ! I understand your desire to keep miracle. We had a chick survive Irene while in lockdown in an incubator with no power for over 24 hrs. We named her Hope. My DH couldnt sell her and I'm not sure I could have either. Now that she is bigger and healthier I think it would be easier to do.
If you are breeding and showing, can you afford to keep Miracle? Do you have enough other pairs in case she doesn't work out? If you do, and you cant really see yourself letting her go, keep her! I know for a fact Cassidys can make it just about anywhere!! DD is a drama queen and so socially adept it's scary, it's a Cassidy thing!

If you are looking for type and character for showing/breeding, Cassidy seems to be the way to go.
It is hard to put emotions aside with the special ones. Good luck with your decision.

I am keeping 3 chicks from this hatch already on top of 1 that I had previously..
I have been wanting to get into breeding and showing. Cassidy is very "showy" and poses for her pictures where as Miracle tries to run away.. I might have to go back and re-evaluate everyone to see if I can keep both.. I know Andre and Hawk are staying without a doubt, Shiloh I was only wanting to keep because of her color but she's not very "typey" as like with Miracle, she just doesnt want anything to do with showing off.. I need to figure something out soon because the 1st week of October I have more hatching out!!

Cassidy is very "typey"! so far I have kept 2 good quaility chicks who are very "typey" also from this hatch an one who I havent seen "type" in yet because she's always trying to run away, but I kept her because of her color... it comes down to these two where I stick with my plan of keeping good "type" birds or go with sentimental..

Miracle - 1
Cassidy - 2

You'll never regret sentimental.

I'm gonna have to say Miracle. She looks like she has great potential, and as someone has already said, your buyers will expect a bird that already looks quality.

If there's a chance a bird could be low quality, and you sell it, the buyer of that bird likely won't put out a good word for you. From a business standpoint AND a sentimental view: Miracle for sure.

Okay so I re-evaluated my chicks today... I noticed Shiloh looks like "she" is getting red comb an waddles making Shiloh a roo... I didnt really want another roo so Shiloh is now up for sale and is being replaced with Cassidy.. I have decided that I need good quality birds now in order to get a good name later on when when it starts getting serious and I start selling eggs and chicks.

so my Serama brood now consists of..

Andre - (his wings are too large for his body for him to stand correctly right now)
