I candled tonight (day #10) using my son's LED cap light (like the ones they use for hunting) and managed to see veins in 5 of the 6, and even saw movement in one!!

I did have to toss one, though, due to a blood ring, but it was soooo exciting to see the movement in that one egg! My son and husband just looked at me and rolled their eyes, but I knew you guys would understand

Only 11 days to go...

I just candled mine at the end of day 10 and have 8 of the original 12 still moving and growing. It just fascinates me to watch them moving around in there, I'm having a hard time not candling too often.

I'm hoping to be able to post my first "I have pips" post on the 19th or 20th.

I had to dodge in a wish you luck! I thought I was ruler of the staggered hatchs and now I'm just laughin. You're as bad as me. I love it. You addict you.

Best of LUCK!!!!

My 'scovies aren't due until tomorrow, but reading all of your guys threads I'm even more excited!
As I had my face plastered to the bator window yesterday seeing if any thing had happened yet I heard peeping. So at least one was internally pipped yesterday!

Does anyone know how long they can survive from internal pip to external pip?

I bought these eggs, I started with 5. One wasn't fertile and when my new incubator arrived and I switched (15 Chantecler, 15 beltsville small white turlkeys, 4 'scovies) all my eggs over to it I some how missed one hidden behind the hygrometer. I didn't notice it for 3 days. I was so sad when I saw it. As my dad would say the "polish" in me came dangerously close to the top!

Oh well, the parents to these guys are lavender. Can't wait too see what pretty babies hatch.
