In case this didnt go to support a minute ago thought I repost it here
.
.Why is it last 2 weeks 2 of my private messages have gone to support at BYC and not to the person I sent them to?
They were both not a first PM but part of ongoing replys to each other.

Just curious whats going on why would they go to you when your BYC name isn't on the PM that was sent ..
This really should be fixed

Not only b/c we have to resend a message when sent right in the first place but for the fact maybe its not at times what we want any one else to read .You know PRIVATE?

Why this concerns me more I guess is ive heard rumors for months that BYC was able to patch in to any Pm anyone sent to any one at any time.

That may be true not sure the rules for who in the staff can read your words anyplace...Im sure the company has the right as its their website...,But who is THE COMPANY?. Who has permission?

This almost feels like a purposeful booboo to cover over that fact in case their could be some liability on moderators "listening" in

In other words before I thought they COULD ..... but this almost looks like they DO.

Let's take a quick breather and relax...

Ok, good. :)

First and foremost: Moderators do not have access to your PM's.

As with any computer system, there are people who have access to your emails, messages, etc. I can guarantee you that there are about 10,000+ people at Facebook, Google (gmail), yahoo, hotmail, your hosting company, your ISP, etc. that have access to read your email, messages, etc. at any point. Technicians, support people, company executives, etc. But here's the important part: Just because people CAN access doesn't mean they DO access.

Regarding BYC staff: I'm the only one that has access to PM's, and I only access them when there are reports of gross rule violations (porn, spam, etc.). We have technicians that have access to the backend, but they do not read your PMs.

The only caveat is this: If you report a PM you've received, it will copy the text of the message in the report that goes to our staff. This is the same thing as forwarding a message to our team.

Now regarding your specific situation: This sounds like it maybe a default system message, but we'll need more details so we can look into it more closely.

I served as a moderator on BYC for about five years. I can PROMISE you that the moderators CANNOT access your private messages, nor would they want to. No one wants to get into that mess, trust me.

Recently, I also got the message you received when I posted on a long string PM I had going with a group of friends, that it went by mistake to support. Weird, yes, but a glitch nonetheless. You can relax.
