Who's Starting the 3-Day-Wait Today?

Congrats on the brahmas! I just love those chicks! What have you been keeping your humidity at during your hatch? I'm trying to stay between 65 and 70 this time around.

Anywhere between 60 and 70% seems to do a good job here for clean hatches.

Anyone else not sleep very well last night? I woke up a couple time to check the bator and when I was asleep, I was dreaming about what else...hatching eggs!

OMGOMG there's a pip and they're peeping! Worst thing about this metal cooler incubator is you can't hear them. I was checking them because the stupid temps had spiked last night and I was worried. Peep! Oh, you're fine - there you ARE! Yay.

I had bizarre crazy chicken reams all night!

Were you able to get the humidity down?

Congrats, Walkswithdog. I have a peep here and there and a pip or two, but not exactly high level action.

This is a shake-out run of my homemade bator, with mutt eggs and turkey eggs. Mutts due now, turkeys on the 29th.

Now I know what I want and need to change when it's over. All in all for a first shot and a small bator it's done pretty well. And given they're all pullet eggs with young fathers I'm pleased.

I only put in a few of each just to see how things went. And I thought (silly me) I wouldn't worry so much about these.

Nope... still nail biting, weird dreaming, sleepless nights.

I guess responsibility is responsibility, is responsibility regardless of egg source.

Patience!! This is what's happening in my old Lyons bator!!!
