I ordered my chicks from Ideal and they are now about 4 weeks old. The two I'm having trouble with are the barred rock and the olive egger. Based on the breed descriptions on Ideal's site I guessed the smaller of the two was the olive egger (which the site said will also be barred) but now im not so sure!

The smaller of the two has a much more prominent black and white pattern that I assumed my Plymouth Barred Rock would have, any guesses??

The first two pics are Margo (the one I guessed to be the olive egger), the second two of are Hattie (in chick photo she's far left) who I thought was my barred rock. Last photo is both of them, Hattie is in the upper corner, Margo in the bottom corner.

I can’t help, I’m sorry. This sort of Olive egger cross can vary a lot so it’s hard to tell!!! Maybe someone else will be able to pick out the differences.
I have three Olive Eggers that are each a little different. First one is Cheeks who has a muff and the most white

Then there is Vulture with no muff and a black head but has a fair amount of white on her body (notice Cheeks laying in the sand behind Vulture’s head)

Lastly I have Esmeralda who is muffed but does not have as much white as her sisters

I love the variety! It may have to be a waiting game. Your girls are beautiful!
