My Mother and Dad were married for 65 years when my father died and all of my aunts and uncles have been married for over 60 years. Two of my sons are approaching 20 years with their wives. Marital longevity runs in my family, it just skipped me. I have managed to stay single 24 years this time so that should count as some kind of fidelity.
a couple of years ago we were at a restaurant and the waitress asked us if we'd been dating long. She was astounded when she found out the truth.
I guess its cause we always hold hands across the table till the food comes not the whole time but at some point he will reach across the table look in my eyes smile and grab my hand. He's done that since our first restaurant date. Which was after we were married cause we were poor and all we could do was share a sub!
Me and hubby will have our 23rd anniversary in December. When we first met, I thought he was an arrogant jerk. He thought I was a weirdo-freak. Turns out we were both right!
