Hello everyone, so I'm curious. I have few hens about 7 months old and although my two Piemontes hens are laying and have been for a while now. However... my Legbar Cream hens are not laying. I know that hens usually lay around 4-6 months, so should I be worried. I don't have that many nest boxes. However I think it might be the fact they are just so tiny! They definitely didn't grow at the size they should imo and they are about half the size of a leghorn hen and a bit smaller than a Livorno hen.

It could be inbreeding depression. Did you get them from a hatchery?
Or could they be bantams?

I have 2 Crested Cream Legbars. They started laying at approximately 32 weeks old. I agree that they are on the smaller side, very petite. I got mine from an excellent breeder in my area. Their eggs are on the smaller side also but they do lay almost every day. In the one photo, they are next to a Bantam Orpington, for size comparison.
