Hi,
I have been raw feeding my Shih Tzu since he was 8 weeks old (he is now 4 years), and he cracks chicken bones and eats entire chicken wings, drumsticks, feet and necks on a regular basis. You should see him go. He teethed on raw frozen turkey necks and chicken feet and never ruined a thing in our house.
My cats ate raw quail, mice rabbit and chicken as well. They died of old age, no surgeries ever. I know many dogs that eat raw problem free.
Now COOKED BONES are a big No No. They are guaranteed to cause problems. I totally agree cooked bones are bad for pets and I would never feed rawhide. That stuff is awful and the way it is processed.
Now saying all of this, you have to research for yourself what you are comfortable with feeding your pet. I was more comfortable feeding my pets "real food" - meat, raw meaty bones, and veggies that are human grade that I buy at the grocery store or grow in my yard - than pelletized processed kibbles or mystery meat cans. There are some very good commercial brands of pet food out there. Anyways, enough of this tangent. I just wanted to add what I do with my feet and heads.
And sometimes I hold back the feet for broth, sometimes they are dog food, but the heads always get buried or go to the dog.
