Why Don't They Listen?????!

No, I think you need to come down for a visit so we can sit on the porch overlooking the place and jaw a bit. If you do, the rooster is free, how 'bout that?

Oh, I'm so glad my husband hasn't seen this thread. He'd be ranting about Government Schools all day long. I did however read in the news paper that you can get 19 eggs a day from 13 chickens in the summer time. So it must be true.

I'm still trying to fine out what breed those chickens were, cuz I's goin' breed them thangs.

Just got a call from a lady about an hour from me about my ad. She had no idea what a Barred Rock or an Orpington was. She wants a rooster for a pet. Wanted to know if they were aggressive. Seems great, right, someone who specifically wants a rooster as a pet? But, I got the feeling she wanted a guarantee that as he got older, he would be a puppy dog. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldnt. He's a rooster. How can I guarantee his behavior once his hormones kick in? Sure, my Barred Rock boys are super sweet and my 13 week old boy, Zane, comes when called, lets me pick him up and runs to me when he's in trouble with the Big Evil Women, but can I guarantee he'll stay like that? Of course not.

You guys think you've got it tough! The question I get most often here in town is: "IS THAT A CHICKEN???" I've thought about saying: " NO- That is the extremely rare White Two-Legged Splayed-Toed Feathered Cat!" and seeing where that got me. . . .
