Why I love my geese!

Some of mine...will load more pics and share...I love my geese the very best...very entertaining and clever...I love to watch them do the goose stroll as they amble across teh yard together just chatting and looking at EVERYTHING...they don't miss anything...I had a different hat on last night when I went to feed...you would have thought the devil was after them until I talked to them and convinced them it was really me...I usually wear black or grey t shirts...it was total panic the day I wore a bright green shirt out there...stranger in the yard! honk honk honk!!!!! They are really smart and comical...

here are the reasons i love my goose
1 never had to mow the lawn since i got my goose
2 i take her for walk with my dog down the street to the pond and the neighbors find it hysterical.
3 when she wants to she me she sits on the porch smashing the screened door with her beak until i come out
4 the way she will go running and jumping like she is trying to fly when i let her out of the coop.
5 the chickens follow the goose into the coop to eat their feed but with out her they don't know how to get in
6 when she goes swimming she goes crazy and its like she is trying to run on water
7 i have a easier time training her to come when i call her name then i do with my dog
8 if my 10lb puppy gets to close to me my goose will nip him on his stubby tail

Another shot of some of the gooslets in their night time yard...and their duckie friends...the black Runner Duck in the back ground is Barbara...she is a mouthy little hoot of a person...lol

OMG I posted this and forgot about it! lol I've been reading the posts, and have been laughing hysterically! I too love it when my geese go running with their wings open & heads held high like they are going to get ya!

Mine have learned that at 5:00 everyday if they go wait by the garden I will turn on the sprinkler & they can stand in the "rain"! They think they have me trained, so I don't have the heart to tell em I water the garden everyday!

I like how our boys will chase the ducks out of the little pool & get in, when the big pool is empty and waiting!

New thing this week.... Early in the mornings they try to sneak up front to the front yard. Well usually we hear them because they honk, well now they don't honk & they tippy toe! It's actually quite funny!

I now have a new goose development. Whenever I do something with the chickens, the geese have to honk at me. I don't get it, but there you go. It seems like they're saying "Hey, those are OUR chickens -- did WE give you permission?"

The running with the wings outstretched is pretty silly. Mine overshot their pen and skidded across the floor sideways!

I was too busy to take picts today. I'll try to take picts tomorrow.
