Why I Will Never Incubate SILKIE Eggs Again

I am new this February to chickens. I am SOOOOO addicted, and all I got was an assortment of five brown egg layers (BO, RIR, BR). Been seeing the photos of these 'Silkies'. Actually saw one at our first local chicken show. I could so MESS with people's heads with one of these things. Taking it downtown on a leash/harness, to work with a diaper. I'd like to dye it blue or purple. This is why DH will never let me have one. And I know he is right.

She was so sweet she would follow me around cooing/purring. I don't know quite how else to explain the sounds they make. It's not a cluck.

GACK! I just CANNOT take those naked neck silkies! They look like someone was wringing their neck, and the phone rang before they could finish.

Silkies are definitely different. Some are good different, some are bad different. I'm torn between the Tribble theory and the Jim Hanson Muppet-Gone-Horribly-Wrong theory.

Now, we have a sizzle hen that is named Easter Bonnet. Why Easter Bonnet? Because she is all froufy like an easter bonnet, and Cricket, our Ameracauna roo makes her sleep on his hed every night.

Thanks! That made be laugh out loud! Glad no one is within ear shot!

I think they look like they escaped directly from the set of The Dark Crystal or Labyrinth, so Jim Henson Studios definitely. Muppet--ask Gonzo.
