...do they show pictures of kids and adults holding chickens up against their chests and sitting on their knees? I thought you you should never hold a chicken...at least like that. Because they can give you that disease that starts with a S.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Salmonella? You can hold chickens. And you're supposed to hold them like that. Just wash your hands afterwards.

Yes, Salmonella.

I got my chicks from TSC and one of the employees said you should never hold a chicken or you will get the disease, (Salmonella.)

kinda like folks who won't let a dog lick their face. Or you shouldn't kiss a dog. WHAT??

I like to kiss them on their muzzle (back from their nose which may have gone bad places). I love dogs. Wouldn't try it on a cat - they'd probably scratch my eyes out.

Lol, ok, so your says that it's fine, all right! (By the way, I'm fostering kittens and I kiss them all the time!)

I hug my chickens all the time and sit with them on my lap/shoulder or pet them, they are way too adorable not to. I just make sure to wash up with antibacterial soap afterwards. If you keep their coop meticulously clean then your birds will be clean too.
