why is some pork more piggy tastin?

To this day, I wonder how pork chops and ham come from the same animal. I love pork chops and loin but I hate ham with the fire of a thousand suns.

Pork chop meat is white and flakey, ham is pink and rubbery. How the heck is that the same animal?

A butcher explained to me that it's different cuts of the same animal but how on earth can one animal be so heavenly in some places and just nasty

in others????
