That's why I eat 'em with silkies too.

Deep fried silkie and some pickled beets...yum

I am just thankful that we don't buy pork at the store anymore - 4H projects come in sooooo handy!

We had one that was awful - just like you said, licking its butt. But, he was unneutered and a little older. We won't do that again. Bacon had to have oil added just to cook he was so lean! I am with some of the other posts - I think it has to do with age and if he's been castrated or not!!!
