Why soy free?? (And the effects of soy)

I've always wondered if his success has come more from selling his ideas than his produce. A lot of his methods are fairly labor intense, but now he always has interns lining up to work there to learn from "the master", not to mention his books and paid speaking engagements. Granted, he had been doing things this way long before he started selling his ideas, but was he as profitable before he had loads of very cheap labor and a lot of outside income to help things along?

a much better source of bio-diesel is switchgrass. you grow it among your other crops as a row cover to keep out weeds, it needs absolutely no tending, needs no chemicals, and is highly productive in making ethanol. best part: we aren't burning food for fuel. if growing GMO, conventionally farmed corn and soy were about feeding the world we wouldn't have so much food laying around that we think it's a good idea to burn it....

many of us refuse to be part of those chemical/industrial complexes. i live on well water and rain water collection tanks, my toothpaste is made from all natural ingredients, i don't buy synthetic fiber clothing (except that made from recycled goods), and i gave up coffee. i'm actually meeting more and more people around my area who are interested in local, sustainable agriculture and we are REBUILDING our farm community through our partnerships. even if someone isn't willing to make this kind of life change (even though it's insanely rewarding) that doesn't mean that they should EVER have to accept eating something that is so harmful.

how many of you use artificial sweetners? like soy these are poping up in many food products and are far worse. sweet n low is highly unsafe for pregnant women, but people push how bad sugar is and every one jumps on the latest artificial sugar. splenda is a crock of crap my friend who has been a chemist for over 30 years would not touch that stuff with a ten foot poll . it sickens me watching people suck down bottle after botle of diet soda when i know whats in it . aspertame is a leading cause of migraines , many people i know who suffer from migraines that i have told to stop consuming products containg aspertame have had there migraines stop compleatly!

Maybe I should start a thread about what IS safe for us

you dont want to know. he worked their for 6 months and left because it made him so sick watching what went in......he wont even toch a hotdog in a packege

UMM hotdogs. I was just like any other kid - eating them raw.......hmmm never killed me yet. Thank goodness for soy to fatten the hogs and get some scraps for hotdogs!
People are afraid of soy but strap themselves into pieces of sheet metal and plastic and propel themselves at 70+ miles an hour and TRUST others people judgement is as good as their own....and they dont think twice about it.

your gonna die anyway ...... might as wll go well fed!

I don't think the organic steamed edeme and miso soup with some tofu in the bottom will make you fat at least.
Here is a fat chart.

US #1 Japan #28

I think it is the hot dogs, and soy as an additive to half the foods we eat.

Hmmm come to think of it Japan does have a very low birth rate... Wonder if that is from the said hormonal issues with soy....??
(Sorry just could not resist the "jab" at the pro soy crowd..)

Seriously this is wonderful and informative discussion and I value all the different viewpoints.
