My eggs were incubating in the closet the whole time and my mom figured that was why, because the first hatch we ever did was a success and they were not in the closet. I moved the incubator to a chair outside of the closet so hopefully that will work!:fl

Mine are still air as well. I keep them in an non air-conditioning room. During the day (Florida) my room is at 93°F. My temperature has fluctuations in incubators ranging from 100°-100.9°F.
My hatch rates are fair, not perfect. I hand turn and reposition orientation frequently.
I had major difficulties when the room temperature was at 77°F. Drafts created while the duration of hand turning.
This is not a recommendation, just sharing my personal preference.:)

I have a chick that hatched but the other 7 aren’t doing anything. Today is day 22. I have one pip that has not changed since 14 hours ago. I also have 2 eggs that keep rocking back and forth but aren’t pipping. Any suggestions?

I'm sitting confused here too. I had 4 hatch a day early and 4 on hatch day. 1 I helped as it was pipped for 30 hours and had a foam at crack. Dried with harden goo to it. Ended up giving a quick bath and dried with a hairdryer on low. It's doing fine. Another egg must of gave up. It had pipped and then pipped under the egg. Never got got. I've got 6 left. It started 1 day late 3 hours ago. Hoping to get more. They were candled. 2 started a pip but no action lately. I think the temperature is too low, even though it says 99.8. A digital said 99. A glass bulb thermometer reads 97 under the heater. Digital reads same in middle, lower on edges. Wondering if house is too cool. Need to find out about calibrating. We are also at very high altitude.

Is the Little Giant incubator thermometer to dangle on the egg or be up on lid? I am borrowing and wonder if it is right. Gives totally different readings
