Sadly not, hopefully I won't be judged for doing such a bad job with this...Hi. Updates? How’s it going. Did you mange to help her.
I’m sorry that no one will help. your tried your very best. and I sure no one will judge you. Besides it’s not your fault, nobody would help and that made it so much harderSadly not, hopefully I won't be judged for doing such a bad job with this...
I have tried several more times since the last update, today got up very early, I tried again, for quite a long time.
I hot her up onto the land, I got her to a corner, and a dog walker came along the path- I had to let her go so that the dogs didn't catch her before I did.
I kept trying again, and again, and interruption after interruption. In the end, she got past me to the water and took off. No one will help, I have appealed to numerous people, they won't help. I'm entirely on my own with her, and I cant get her... I just feel like it's futile at this point. The area of water is large, but the path itself is narrow, and once I have her up, people and dogs come by and I have put her in a vulnerable position.
Ive recently sold my car, and am relying on other people to drive me, they won't actually help to catch her, and are no longer willing to help me get there.
I feel terrible, like it'll be my fault when she dies... She walks very slowly, every step looks painful. Her legs are very turned in, and starting to bow. I don't think she has long left, but I'm not going to be able to rescue her
edit: the duck rescue lady that I mentioned finally got back to me, she called to tell me she left the area and will be unable to help
at least she has a friend.A very small upside, is that her mallard drake is still protecting her, from any drake or pigeon or gull that dares to come close to her. If any ducks try to eat her food, he will chase them off. He is always close to her. She also fends for herself somewhat, she will have a little go at any one who comes close to her food, too.
I know it's a seasonal bond which likely won't last, but it's always been a comfort that he's watching out for her and showing her how to survive.
Easter is coming up, and people will make the very same mistakes. And next time I will be prepared, and act quickly before they become so feral![]()
I've tried that a couple times, with a net, but she's much too fast and there's just too much water... I dont think people are allowed to use boats or kayaks on the pond-and I think that would be harder than on landDo you think It would help going after her in the water?
Thanks for the understanding! I wish I could've helped herI’m sorry that no one will help. your tried your very best. and I sure no one will judge you. Besides it’s not your fault, nobody would help and that made it so much harder

Thank you, that's really kind and means a lot.You have gone far above and beyond what a lot of people will do to help an animal. Don't feel like it's your fault if she doesn't make it. You've done your best and that's all anyone can do.![]()
