Wildlife experts: What kind of animal is this? ~New Pics page 11~

I agree the 1st pic looks like a large tom cat. The 2nd pic, it isn't a raccoon. It's all one color and the muzzle is too thick. The fur seems "off" for a bear cub, but that is the only thing I can think of. Beavers have a more rounded head, nutria do too. But, the proportion seems too small for a bear cub, and where's the mom?? No idea on the 2nd. Just a good idea if what it isn't. I'd love to see other pics of it!

It is a Moultie. The first Moultrie died, so I sent it back and they replace it with the current model which has a lot more resolution. So far no problems with the replacement.

Whatever it is that is the one and only picture I have of it. Hopefully it will show up again this time facing the camera.

I have To get an idea of the size of the animal, here are a couple of others to compare it to, a raccoon and a coyote. To me it looks like the beaver/bear cub/nutria animal is about raccoon size. Because of the camera lens the coyote appears smaller than it really is.

Head just doesn't look right for a raccoon, and that is its left foot, where would the tail be? Bears and raccoons are same family, foot looks like a large raccoon, could be a last years cub, date stamp, if correct, is right for a late born cub from last winter. They take a few years to grow to full size. Are there bears in your area?

Yes, the time stamp is correct.

I have never heard of bears in my area, and I have lived here for 30 years. However, a few years ago there was a report of a black bear in a town 20 miles from here.
