don't know if this makes any difference, but they list the Ideal 236 under the Leghorn category whereas their production hens are listed under white egg layers. It does state the 236 is a hybrid, but I wonder why they placed it in this category?

I baught 25 pullets and 2 roos 7 years ago. The first ones I hatched seem to have more stray black feathers, then i hatched 16 eggs out of second generation and they were all pure white.(all pullets) so the next genaration was out of thier uncle and about a 1/4 had stray black feathers. I am now into 6 th genaration now and have about 1/2 with stay black feathers and 1/2 solid white. The important thing is the sixth genaration lays as well maybe a little better than the first, abot 5-6 eggs a week free ranged and supplmented with layer pellets. The hens are about 4-1/2 to 5 pounds roos 6-1/2 to 7-1/2 I have had a couple of roos that wieghed 8. I have cut back on them because nobody wants white eggs anymore.
I have eggs hatching now that are RIR roo over 236 hen and 236 roo over RIR hen and 236 roo over Barred rock hen. I cant wait to see what they look like and how well they lay.
