Will my Pigeons hatch a chicken egg?

Out of quarantine boredom, as well as the fact I have too many eggs, I gave my pair of pigeons (who have been sitting on nothing for some time) a chicken egg. Ive heard stories of pigeons hatching chicken eggs and decided to try it out myself!
If it's small enough, like a bantam egg, I don't see why not. You'll have to be careful if it hatches though, if the parents try to feed the chick they could kill it or accidentally injure it. Best of luck with your experiment!

It is possible, they will hatch it. But this means you will most likely not be getting any eggs from your pair until it hatches and they are ready to start a new clutch. It's a up to you, but I knoe how much you have been wanting some pigeons.

If it does hatch, you will have to raise it. Pigeon are altricial when they hatch, and chickens are precocial. The chick will run out of the nest, and the parents may try to force feed it, killing it.

Hey, guess what! My pigeons payed eggs as well as staying faithful to the chicken egg! One I found cracked in the floor though :( I think it was later outside the nest and it fell off. Chicken egg is doing good, if not a little behind. A friend also gave me a sparrow egg to see if they would hatch that, so that’s under them too! So now there is three eggs, all of different species in a pigeon nest. Would the baby sparrow be able to be fed by the pigeon parents, or will I have to take it away? I’m kind of freaking out over the pigeons eggs though, I really hope that one hatches most of all!

Sounds like everything's going good! Though with the sparrow egg, depending on the type of sparrow they are protected under the Migratory Bird Act, and you can be fined if found in possession of the egg or chick. If it's a house sparrow though you're good, they're invasive and non-releasable.

It’s a house sparrow. I was kind of worried about that. Haha if I find any egg, guess where it goes? Under the pigeons.
Oh that's good 😊👍 House Sparrows are an invasive species in the us so if the chick is born it'll have to stay with you. Also I'm not to sure about the pigeons feeding it. Sparrows are insectivores (and also occasionally eat some seed) so the pigeon milk will most likely not work very well for it.
