Wow, that’s a good size! I like putting 3/4 inch plywood screwed in by 2x2’s and then put linoleum over the top. Mine is filled with about 3 inches of sand. I don’t feel like anything could get into my coop, Hopefully I’m not wrong because there are all kinds of animals living in my neighborhood.

Install a visual barrier 24" high around the base. The scent and sound draws predators in but lacking the visual most will just keep going.

Yeah,it's about a 4 foot wall all around and 2 feet of wire on the top third. They most definitely can't see in.

It’s worked out really well for me! There is all kinds of things going by on my fence, raccoons, bobcats possums, skunks in the bushes, coyotes running down the road and hawks overhead, even an occasional owl.

I've seen people use the apron method but never understood how it worked before.

They want to dig at bottom of wall, they hit the mesh and move over to try again.
