My googling said to avoid deworming in the first trimester - which would be right now if they did typical fall mating.

And to pick a dewormer that was safe for pregnant does - and there are a lot of them but it's beneficial to deworm later in pregnancy.

How long will they stay in the temp pen?

How long will they stay in the temp pen?

I'm not sure. Right now they're in a old (but very solid) pig pen clearing brush during the day and I move them inside a building at night. It's plenty of space so I'm not in a rush. The fencing in the pasture where they'll be permanently needs a lot of work and I'm hesitant to put them in there until I can get a LGD with them. They'll have a 3 sided structure with a roof (which is what they had at their old home).

Sounds like you're gonna be fine - let me know what you do for a stanchion and milking.


I wanted to take the dive into a dairy cow, but the investment and the immense amount of work has me stalled.
