Winter Quilt Block Swap 2013

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are fine, no damage. I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday in labor and delivery at the navel hospital at Camp Lejeune with a friend of mine from college. She finally gave birth at 10:50 Saturday night and won't come home until Tuesday. Thanks for asking and I will be praying for all our northern friends.

boy or girl??? Babies do seem to like to come before the big storms, eh?

rockingbearanch, your block is pretty as a picture!

Sure glad my daughter came through Sandy all right. There are some out there that aren't going to be as fortunate. I pray everyone will be safe. I did three more of my blocks today. It was nice to sit down and quilt a while.

I'm so thankful to be in an area without much weather. They did predict a rare snow in November. The town will shut down and people will stockup up enough food for weeks even though the snow will evaporate as it hits the ground.

I have a lot of periwinkle blue around my house so I wanted to pick it up in the block. It is testing my sewing skills trying to get all the points lined up.

Rockingbear, that's the best thing about these swaps....we get to practice our skills. I bet you'll do just fine. Can't wait to see your block! We don't get much weather here either in the high desert except for wind and more wind. Ours sometimes reaches hurricane force. We have very few days without sun and only 3-5 inches of rain a year. We do get snow occaisionly but the most we've had is 4 inches and it melts overnight.
