Winter Quilt Block Swap 2013

I am glad everyone made it through the storm. I have changed my block & colors. I washed & dried the fabric today and hopefully tomorrow I will iron & start cutting. I will do one test block to see how I like it. I will post updates as soon as I get one done. BTW everyone's blocks are beautiful.

LOL, I don't think I'll be using hardly any of my stash for these blocks. I ordered far more fabric then I needed in silvers, blues, and snowy whites, so not only can I make my blocks for everyone, but I'll have extra for using between our blocks to finish my quilt up in similar colors!

It sounds like you're prepared to finish your blocks. Isn't it fun to shop for fabric? Hope all of you had a great weekend. Mine was quiet and the end of the week will bring a change in weather with rain, snow and freezing temps in some areas.

We will still have low 90's midweek, hope I don't have to turn the air on again, but next Saturday is supposed to be about 66...need to find warmer clothes again here...hoping to get a winter garden in this next week :) Stay warm you northern peoples :)

I love to hand piece my blocks so I will be starting very soon. I just finished my fall crochet block swap so now I can get going on this. I got my main fabric and went to buy a couple of coordinating fabrics for it. I'm really excited about this block swap. I decided too, to change the pattern I'm going to use. I found one I like better that I think will work better too.

I have almost 3 months before they must be mailed so I think I'll just enjoy my evenings while I piece my blocks!

I am hand piecing my blocks too and I changed to a simpler pattern. I will try to post a pic tomorrow. I was trying to piece & watch tv and sewed 2 of them together wrong.

No big deal but I was hoping to get one done tonight. If it works out I will finish cutting my fabric tomorrow & should be able to do at least a block a night if I am not trying to watch tv!

Here' my block. I hope its not too "Christmasy" The trees remind me more of winter. I was trying to stick with the white, blue colors everyone seems to be doing. I will try to work on repositioning the trees better.

Its great! I have silver trees, but I love trees and snowflakes in winter. I don't think it looks christmasy at all.
