winterizing for a peahen

This summer we had a random, stray peahen wander over and insert herself into our chicken/duck flock. The other birds live in a big run but the peahen isn't caged at all, she sticks by the runand chickens all day long and then roosts elsewhere at night. We are getting ready to build a winter chicken/duck house but aren't sure at all what to do for the peahen. How do you winterize for peafowl?

What are winters like there? Highs and lows, precipitation, and wind?

It has been my experience that you can build free ranges a castle and they will still roost in the trees.

As long as she is not of a green decent , has access to fresh water and feed she will be able to take care of her self. i rarely get snow here but we got that and a little ice storm and my peas still roosted in the trees just like they always do, some were a bit covered with ice and had to wait for the thaw later that day to get down but all was fine, just some pulled feathers when they left the tree ans broke the ice free.

I should have said in my original post - for the most part our winters are mild. We live in southern New Mexico, the average winter temps are 50s during the day and 30s at night but we can have snaps where it will be 20/10 for a week or so. We get maybe four days total of fairly light snow, but a bit of ice in December and early January.

She is very pretty

she will be fine,
wind and cold rain are the worst for them around here, i do not know how they hang on to them little branch's at the very top of the trees when the wind blows 30 miles and hour or more but i know they do not get much sleep cause first thing they come out of the trees and head to the barn and sleep till noon

She is an India Blue hen who doesn't appear to be of green descent and as Zaz said she should do fine thru a NM winter.

Have you wormed her recently good to do that before winter hits.

Can I worm her the same as the chickens? We use Rooster Booster multi wormer.

Does that kill tape worms also? i have seen it but remeber i went with safe guard as it kills more different types of worms.

"Rooster Booster Multi-Wormer is a multi-action product that kills round worms, cecal worms, and capillary worms in poultry." I copied this from the TSC ad. I've used it once to worm ducks,chickens, and peas. But I didn't have a fecal done afterwards to check effectiveness. It doesn't seem to get tapeworms.
