I was up til 5 AM on Boys VS Girls trying to keep the women afloat, no such luck !!! Now that I think of it I should have not played as at that time it was 2 against 1 !!

WCC I would love to meet you and all your critters !!! Where are you just south of Milwaukee or Madison ?? It doesn't really matter where, I can take a road trip to your place while I'm down there.
My Madison Appointments start at 10 something AM and my actual doctor appointment I think is Noonish. On the way out of town I like to hit the Half Price Book Store. I've found quite a few horse and chicken books there in the past. That is where I got the Vegetarian Soup Cookbook with the Zucchini recipe.

I think Saturday the 15th I am going to go to the Dancing Horses show I think is in Lake Geneva with my sister and 89 yr old aunt. My sister took her once and she just has to go again and wants me to see it. She fell in love with the camels in the show. She is losing her vision very bad. She wasn't taking her glaucoma eye drops regularly (she'd fall asleep and miss her nightly ones) and the pressure has gotten so bad that a few months ago they said they might have to remove her whole eye !!! They keep giving her a shot in the eye now to try to stop the blood vessels from growing or something like that

So I defineately have to go down and spend some time with her. She lives alone and doesn't have any children so my sister is carrying the burden of driving her to appointments etc on top of working full time etc.

DH ET just collected eggs. He came in here with his hand cupped closed, he always does that when he has a huge egg, a tiny egg or whatever kind of egg. Of course I'm always leary that he may have some other critter that I don't like so I always ask. Anyway I will post a picture of it in a few !!!! I'm so excited !!! These are from my Easter Hatched chicks. I am going to have to start weighing my eggs the day they are layed !!!

Thanks for the crust recipe TO. Geez, now I'll have to find my rolling pin, clear off the counter and hope there won't be any flying feathers or cat hair to roll up into the crust........

Sure wish I lived closer to you guys TO and WCC. I'd be hanging with you guys at the horse events. To I love pony rides. When we went to the Vilas County fair I saw the pony rides first thing. Told DH lets go see the pony rides. He didn't want to so I went myself. There is some just so cute about those little ponies with their little saddles etc.

As it gets closer to the 14th I'll see when we go down to get hay again. Jim is about 13 miles from there.

I met up with Tiki again yesterday and got a couple more chicks from her. One is a silkie x cochin this time. I hope it's a hen. She'd make a good broody for hatching call duck eggs.

Here are the ones I got the first time (minus the big white turken). They did not like the camera and were trying to hide under eachother!

Oh How cute!!!!! Thanks for the pictures. How lucky I just came on here and there are pics waiting for me.

The one to the left of the turken looks especially nice (cochin wise). Excellent stance. Also the one to the right of the turken. And the one in the back with the white head might be a mottled color.

I hope you get lots of girls

It looks like MR Stands so nice is a boy.

Of course I can never tell for sure till the start laying eggs or crowing. Some always fool me.

Afternoon all, just killing a couple of minutes before I head out for my second shift today, then a caregiver meeting, joy oh joy.

Cind congrats on the hatch, I'm sure she'll figure out what to do!

Seems I missed a rather humorous story about a freezer and a turkey, LOL.

Someone asked if Oct 8th would be okay for bash, it's good by me for what it's worth! I think that was our "backup" date anyway. Methinks we need to figure it out pretty quickly though. I'm just praying the weather will be cooperative (meaning not cold) lol.

Wishing I had some acreage and a small barn. A friend just posted a pic of a nice looking 10 year old quarter horse gelding in need of a home...unbroke and been awhile since being haltered...something about him reminds me of my old horse and I'd love to give him a home.

Well, guess I should get a couple of things done and grab a bite to eat before I have to dash back out to work.

My great preserving friends... can I freeze carrots? My friend gave me a bag of them and they are starting to go bad... smelling musty... so want to preserve them quick. Is it possible?

Well, I saw at least 2 little peepers! There was still some eggs sitting there. I'll clean out the brooder tomorrow and get rid of what didn't hatch. One of the chicks has the "chipmunk" markings! Can't figure out what hen that would have come from

All the "daddys" are "Golden Comets" Do the RIR hatch out like that?
