Cute pictures! I know that the Partridge Bantam cochins we have are more interested in being broody than laying eggs

Re: extra zuchinni

I made some zuchinni chips by slicing, adding sea salt & then dehydrating them to use with dips instead of chips. They're kind of bland but I like that I'm eating veggies instead of chips. I also dehydrate plain zuchinni both in slices and diced and will slip them into various recipes. Freezer space is at a premium here and I don't have to worry about freezer burn or using it up before the next crop...

Aww, cute pics of baby chicks -- makes me want some more!

Well I was going to suggest the 15th for the bash so maybe FT could come, but it sounds like she has plans already.

I don't think Cind can make the 8th.

Since pretty many people can't make it on the 1st, I'm all for making it a later date.
What works for everyone?

He is doing just fine and loving the short ladies.. our serama hen seems to like him too.

H&R let me know if you want to try to go to the Portage show. And what your DS decides to do with his cochins.. I may be interested in them.

Now I gotta find where Aztlan state park is...

AND I think we should move the day to Oct 8th...

As for Sat we are thinking of trying to be there around 1 pm because the judging should be done by then. It takes us roughly 45 minutes to get to Portage so if you and TO want to ride with us- you would need to be to our place 12 noonish- let me know what you and TO decide

DS(9) has decided to rehome his cochins so let me know and we can figure something out!

Had grilled cheese sandwiches and soup for dinner tonight and we are waiting for the pumpkin pie to cool enough to eat..... DS(6) requested that.

Hi all--I am rapidly running out of steam...was going to move the LR furniture around tonight but after cleaning out all the house birds and moving their cages around I dont think I have any energy left! I still need to move the bigger quail downstairs...got a new waterer and food thingy for them. Tomorrow is another day I guess...

At F&F today I got a bunch of stuff I probably didnt need...like some more Mums for either side of my sidewalk...but I figured the burgundy will look so nice next to the yellow ones (that the groundhog ate all the flowers of of) Now I have to plant them....they are closing out of Phillips lightbulbs so I got a bunch of heat lamps for $2.44 each and also some 150 watt floods for the kitchen for $1.88! I am probably set for life...I also found some fence fixin's to finish the new area for the ducks. I got a "come along" and some hooks to make a fence stretcher...I just hate a baggy fence...

Ate some corn tortillas with cheese and salsa for dinner. I am out of oil so I made them in lard...smells like pie crust in here! DD25 came down and said it smelled like meat! My friend brought me some more apples so I need to make some applesauce tomorrow night...after work before the 4H meeting I guess.

FT if you are meeting Carol I would be happy to accept your Dom roo. I was thinking of trading CC an Australorpe for hers...but the guy I would trade does not have correct eyes--he must be crossed with something else. I will have to tell Elaine that I might be getting a man for her...I am sure she will be overjoyed!~

H&R-I will be at your place at noon on Saturday...need any eggs? How about hot peppers?

Headed to bed now..you all have sweet dreams ya hear? Terri O

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a while here. Not much new. The bantam I got at the bash only layed for a couple of weeks. If anyone wants her, let me kow. She is pretty. My other three are doing okay, but two have quite a few feathers in tail area and neck area pecked off. Ihave not witnessed it, but it might actually be the bantam. Oh yeah, she is a silver laced wyandotte.

Bad news, we lost our best friend Cadbury on 9/11. He was a cairn terrier and was a super friend. We will miss him.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I just got over a crying spell just thinking about my dog dying. He's only 6 1/2, but I just can't stand the thought of losing him. I was watching a movie and one of the scenes made the tears flow and then I had to pet him and give him a big hug. He's probably wondering what the heck my problem is! I hope your terrier lived a long happy life. Sounds like he was very loved. All we can do is love them while they're here and give them the best life we possibly can. Dogs don't live long enough, cats on the other hand . . .
