good evening, not much to write about..

Just finished a nice piece of fresh raspberry pie.. daughter #1 picked her berries and gave us enough for a pie..

finally got an answer from the guy wanting a dog house.. I think his numbers $$ are unrealistic.. he is a hmong, I think.. wants it for two dogs, divided in the middle because the dogs do not get along.. a window in each side, and hinged roof and doors to lock the dogs in. all for $120.oo for material ?? He has to supply the material.. I think he is going to be surprised..

Evening all !!

TO & WCC thanks for the offers for the bash weekend. If it turns out to be on the 15th will keep those offers in mind. Sent an email to my sister about the Dancing horses schedule. She is very busy with work and helping my Aunt I'm going to have to pin her down so we can figure out when we are going to the show while I'm down there.

Ya know I really didn't think I had a schedule around here but with DH ET gone for two days now I'm feeling a big overwelmed at the moment. Drove to Rhinelanderto to deliver Eggs. Only had 3 doz chicken & 3 doz
duck eggs.

Hardly worth the trip !!
Really a waste of gas money. So I always stop at Aldis for other things. Spent $125

Anyway, last night while I was eating a Peanut M&M I bit down on a piece of filling that obviously came from that was just had refilled a few onths ago !!!

Not much to say today, birds are fine, cats are fine, dogs about the same. DH still working hard and DH#1 still needs to get the rest of his stuff here.

TO... sorry about your friend, was it a long relationship? He must feel so guilty, even if there was nothing he could have done

CC... Make it 3 for the bash for me but I need a date soon to make sure DH doesn't have to work.

Well, Young son (22) came over and cleaned the wood burner and the chimney. The former owners said that thing would heat the whole house if you use the fans right. I was real skeptical since the "stove" is in the workshop on the far end of the house.

We stoked that puppy up, tried to figure out the fans, and in about an hour of fooling around the house (in the center) was up to 72! It started at around 66

I threw in a couple more logs and another hour or so it was up to 75! Last winter we went through 5 tanks of oil at about $700 each and went chilled allot! This year that oil will cost a little over $900 a pop. So far we spent about $300 on wood (4 full cords split and delivered) and we have another maybe 2 cords we got free and have to cut and split. We should be getting another 2 to 3 cords free and DH said he wants to buy 1 more load of 2 cords. It's a 9 room + ranch not counting the Bathrooms, garage and work shop (I don't remember the sq. footage) Do you think that will be enough wood? About 10 cords? How much do you go through?

Must try to sleep.... night!

I don't need two frizzle roosters, and I want to sell the blue roo with my 2 existing black bantam cochin hens,
Need to make room for H&R's DS's trios.
Just had some coffee, gotta get my socks on and go to the barn to feed!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!! Finally done reading!

Cind we go through about 20 face cord a winter, haven't bought oil in a long time and after reading the prices remember why we burn wood. It's a dirty heat a lot of extra dusting and clean up around the stove but well worth the extra work and it's carbon neutral. One of these years we're gonna get a more efficient wood furnace. Have been looking at Yukons. Cool pics everyone! CC L's leaving tomorrow morning to take care of the DD and GD till Sun. when their DH gets home. Thanks for the well wishes! If these hens don't start laying, next spring I might be talking to you about some BA's. It's peckin raining! Knew the wind was supposed to howl this aft but didn't see anything about rain.

Want to go out and make a mess of my now neatly stacked lumber to see what I need to build the shelves on the back porch. Dig a hole- fill it in. Dig a hole...... Where's my tail? Oh there it is. Amy was thinking before your later post that you should wait until dark then get a paper bag hold it close to the ground and walk through the grass and whistle then when you hear that quail hit the back of the bag close it up real fast cause their fast lil suckers!

Yes a bunch of us kids were taught to hunt snipe while camping one summer while the grownups sat around the fire drinkin beer and laughing. Glad it came home! BFf was out back hunting this morning he just walked in. Better go see whats up.

Morning all...I was hoping for sun! DrH the radio said high winds and rain here this aft. I guess I'd better get my feed unloaded. Might need to put the topper back on my truck...makes a nice storage facility that way! I covered it with a tarp last night just in case...hate to have $100+ feed get ruined in the rain!

When I put the torts out this morning they were less than enthused. I think they are liking living inside. THey are so active though and I want to let them have as much exercise as possible before they cant go out any longer! They were hard to find last night because I got home after dark...they were hiding in new places and didnt go into their house.

The vanilla pear butter smells great! I sure hope I can dig up a few more jars around here or it will have to go into the freezer. I'd rather have it on the shelf though...sometimes stuff doesnt get out of our freezer once it gets in! Out of sight out of mine I guess. Hey Carol...your meatballs sound like they turned out good! WHy didnt you use cheese? You cant eat it or you didnt have any? I think it is fun to cook with just what you have...kind of a challenge ya know? I am glad that you now like cooking...why didnt you enjoy it before? I LOVE to cook...

Jim...you must be sleeping in today? Good day for it I say! FT...if you are that tired why dont you just GO TO BED girl? I hate that feeling of falling asleep at the task at hand. THis is why I go to bed and read every night...tells my brain it's time to go to sleep, when I read the same sentence twice I turn out the light! Easy Peasy!

Speaking of squash...I sure home there is enough time left for that hubbard and it's friend to get big enough to eat! I havent heard anything about a killing frost yet...I think they said maybe a frost this weekend. They just updated the forecast and it went from 74 to 69 for a high today...yup, fall is on it's way...weekend supposed to be nice...C'mon plants...do some growing while you can!

All right--Jim has probably posted by now...then I have to get those tomatoes I picked yesterday into the freezer..I am trying your method this time Cind. It sounds easy! Thanks for the well wished for my friend. I dont know how long he and the woman had been friends...just that he said, "she was my soul-mate...I have a black eye and bruised ribs and a broken heart." Too sad! HE and his wife of many years got divorced about 5 years ago just before my son and their daughter graduated from HS. Poor guy...

TO that's just so sad about your friend!!!!! Quit raining but the wind is picking up. BFF came in because he says he's not hunting in the rain anymore because of not being able to track as well. I'm sure I'll have remind him next year.

THey are Russian Tortoises DrH. Very personable, especially the female. SHe actually comes when you call to her!

good morning,, yup, slept in.. first cuppa down, but the 2nd one is way upstairs.. will have to wait.. looks nasty out there today.. this wind would dry things off if there was no rain in it. we just can't win..

Is anybody still looking for call ducks ? there were some on wausau c-list.. I would like to have some eggs in the spring, but I don't know much about those ducks.. do they winter well?
