Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I guess I should read all the posts before I reply..

The TGF breeder stopped in this afternoon.. He looked at my birds and commented on a couple of them how nice they were..

Prior to his coming, I took my ad off of c/list.. I decided to keep at least a couple of them over winter..

the breeder said that he has no problem selling a couple of hundred chickens each year.. at 6o for hens and 13o for roosters, that is not too bad.. He offered to sell me one of his roos cheap, or trade one for one.. He puts ads in c/list in Minn and Oklahoma and Kansas..

I told him the names of the Hmong guys who were interested in my chickens.. He knew one of them,, said that guy had a good job and lots of money.. Well, then he should have showed up like he said he was going to..eh?

I went out to lock up the birds.. I walked behind the guinea coop, just because I could.. that granite sure was the right thing to do. I could have walked bare footed.. or is that bared foot ?
where i tapered the granite, it goes to about only one inch thick and that was even good to walk on.. a f-in mazing..
I have to take about one more scoop back there just for asthetics..

I don't think there are any hippies in the Madison campus, but yes FT, that is what I meant.. I guess these young people don't remember that era..

Evening all,

Just sat down to watch a few TV shows before I start working again.

Anyway, Cind, My phone just beeped at me showing me I got a message. So that sounds like a good idea if it is alright with Carol.

I've decided that since Jim didn't have as many hens as he thought I'll just bring them all down for you guys. That would be 3 each.

Cind offered to keep the birds and bring them to the bash next week. What do ya think Wcc

As far as the Roosters, I think I'll bring them down next time since I won't have room in my car this trip. If I get my hands on those polish cross chicks by then I can bring them down too.

Sound like a plan???????

It rained like cats and dogs here tonight and I wasn't able to get out to clean out the car and pens. So DH said he would help me pack up tomorrow after he gets home from work. I'll be driving down in the evening which will work out good for Cindlady !! LOL

Yeah Jim, I remember those hippie days in Madison. That is when I was 13 and going to the UW hospital for my chemo etc. Had to drive thru campus !!! Yep those were the Hippie days 1971

Good evening! What a weird day...I tried to leave for work and my car battery was dead...I thought DH had got it going but I didnt drive it yesterday...I took his truck, but it needed gas, I didnt get my check in the mail so I could only put in $30--sure doesnt go too far with diesel! But by the time I got home the doe was in the back of my truck so I took it to the processor. $50 for the processing...not too bad I didnt think.

So FT--I take it you are not coming down 39 to 94 then...I guess I dont even know where you are coming from. But fine for me to get the roo later in the year...(I know you just want to keep him a bit longer!) That was I will have room for him...Carol called me to see if I had your number...she thought maybe she got it wrong...

JIm I am jealous of your gravel! I had to walk out tonight in the rain and lock up (in my sandals) and I had to wash them AND my feet when I came it! YUK! It would be so nice to be able to walk out there with out slipping and sliding! Even my mats have mud over them now...have to get the scraper out tomorrow after I cook...

Robin...what kind are those new black and rust chickens you got? Your coop looks like mine...but drier! The ducks are mad at me cause I kicked them out of the blue Am's coop...they were just making more mud in there!
Brent I am mad that your birds are laying already...no eggs from the Buckeys yet for me...the roo isnt crowing yet either. Oh yeah, that was somebody else that said "when the roo starts crowing eggs soon follow" (Jim maybe?) I did add a little sugar and a pinch of salt or so to my pear butter...mine didnt have a lot of taste before I did it...I also added cardamom...it is "to die for delicious!"

OK I am beat...hitting the rack (like my Dad always says) Sweet dreams all! Careful driving FT and any others traveling tomorrow! Terri O
