Sorry to hear about your hen, Ken. Good luck with your broody.
Kris, sorry no more of your eggs hatched. Could you maybe lay some newspaper on the floor in your utility room in case momma can't make it outside the next time?

Ahhh, FT, you almost made me spit my coffee this morning. Good one!
BBP almost made me do it again. And TO with her sleeping with a pig comment.
Carol, I'm
for your mom & her surgery.
Bigz & DrH, I'd be in jail too. Didn't know that about home invaders.
Good thing I got a real long driveway. We don't even get trick-or-treaters, unless they are on ATVs.
I hope your knee feels better, DrH. And Bigz, I meant to ask what kind of bladder issue your cat has?
Glad to hear you are alive & well, Jim. I was starting to wonder.
MLH, sorry to hear about Saxon. I hope plan #1 works.
Been real busy around here lately. I got the coop & carport all cleaned out yesterday since the weather was kinda decent. Laid down some fresh wood chips but I have to get more for a deeper layer for winter. The girls were trying to help me by tearing apart a straw bale & spreading it around. They didn't seem to share my opinion of using the straw for the rabbits and not them.
While I was out there, I noticed my roo, Moose, was doing a pretty good Elvis impersonation every once in a while. Whenever he put most of his weight on his right leg, it would start trembling. and sometimes the rest of his body would shake for a few seconds. He didn't have any trouble when his weight was on the left leg or if both legs held the weight equally. It was weird. It didn't happen often, but enough for me to notice it quite a few times (I was out there for a couple of hours). He has no problems eating, drinking, scratching, alerting others to treats or doing his "manly business". He has no problems walking either, but I did notice that he picks his right leg up higher than his left, almost like he's goose-stepping with that one leg. I don't see any visible signs of any swelling or anything abnormal, but he is a wild thing, so I couldn't catch him if I tried to give him a good looking over. Anyone have any ideas? He's only 1 1/2 years old, I think. I had Myrtle in the house last week & didn't see any bugs on her. And I took one of her poos in when I went to the vet & she was negative for any parasites or cocci.
Jasmine is the pretty much the same. Today she looked like she was having a little more difficulty with her right leg so I might run her up to the vet for another anti-inflammatory shot tomorrow. The last one seemed to help. We shall see. She is in a smallish cage so she doesn't have to move around too much to eat or drink. Neither of which seems to be affected by her current condition, BTW. She eats like a little piggy. And, no, I do not need any of those, thank you, FT.
Well, I'd better get to bed. I got up way too early to still be functioning at this hour. Sweet dreams, all!
