I have the dreaded stomach flu that is going around, I have gotten a most of my paperwork done, just have to submit it.
And I tried to get a "smart" phone, it sucks.. seriously sucks.. I am on my second one in 10 days of the same type, and am going to try an Iphone tomorrow... if it drops calls in one certain area, just outside of Oregon.. I am returning it on weds for a full refund..
You would think Verizon would have better phones...

Hey treat question: how old do my chicks have to be to have people food as treats... Like lettuce? Or what other treats can the 3wks od have besides worms?
Thanks!

Not sure on the exact age, but 3 weeks is plenty old for treats. Bigz's recommendation is scrambled eggs. My babies go crazy for them! And they just love wheat bread too. At first I broke tiny pieces off for them, but now I just hold a slice and they tear it to shreds like little piranhas.

Hey all been busy around here enjoying the nice weather, even contemplated a bike ride the other day, but that went south..... and that's ok 40 seems warm but on a bike at 55 it's pretty cold yet.
Anyway just trying to catch up and stopped to say hello, and catch up, you guys are posting people.....LoL, miss a day or 2 and ya get left behind.... Retreated my chickies Tuesday, so far so good not seeing anything will check again in day or 2.
CHOOKCHICK So where in Northern Iowa? we go thru, Dub. to Maquoketa in June.... and I wouldn't mind a couple wheaten AM, and a Lavender or 2, Would you be able to sex them at that age? I really only need pullets, but a roo would be ok also, cuz Fred has to go soon........... so let me know.......Kim

Don't over do it on the bread. Scrambled eggs would be better. They need the protein at that age and eggs have a lot more vitamins then wheat bread. Lettuce really isn't that good, it can cause diarrhea. Yogurt would be good but all in all it's just best to stick to their regular diet. 3 weeks is still young. But I can understand you wanting to use treat to calm them down and get them friendly towards your kids. Tiny pieces of cut up apple might work.

Hi all! Busy night, rotated 3-4 projects all night but at least got stuff done!

CC... I tried to get soft elastic for the aprons but Wal-Mart is the only place in less than 25 miles that even has elastic and even their knit elastic seemed stiff. That's all that I have left to do on the first 6.

FT... I used "Duck Cloth" on the tops and cotton on the bottoms. I used fusible pellon in between. You'll see some f the modifications when I finally get them done.

The chicks are so cute! makes me want some NOW! But I must wait...no room at the inn...yet. As it is I have to find room for breeder pens, chicks (Fool's Hatch), and turkeys! Sure wish winter was done and I had more money to work with!

No one mentioned all the FOOD at the bash too! Bring a dish (or 2) to pass and we all eat well!

Night all!
